*Ka'iulani's Cure Porch will be open during the winter season as we have appointed it with a Victorian wood burning stove circa 1881 (Stevenson was 31 years old when it was built). This will give visitors an opportunity to dine in an environment created during the era when Saranac Lake was known for its curative powers for those suffering from T.B. The porch was constructed during the doctors 60 years of living in the house when patients were encouraged to on a chilly porch wrapped in blankets to breathe the sterling air of the North Country. Watch the silvery snowflakes fall in a cozy room blessed with windows all around to see the beauty of nature while enjoying High or Afternoon Tea.
